Employee Transit Benefits

TransLink card and Commuter Checks

TransLink® currently works with Commuter Check® and WageWorks®. If you ride AC Transit, Golden Gate Transit and Ferry, or Dumbarton Express, and receive employee transit benefits through one of these programs, check below to see if your benefit program is already part of TransLink.

Commuter Check

  • Use your Commuter Check paper vouchers to add e-cash or load passes to your TransLink card. Just take your vouchers to a participating retail outlet or transit agency ticket office.
  • If you receive benefits through Commuter Check Direct, you can set up your benefits to load value directly to your TransLink card instead of receiving vouchers in the mail. Look for the TransLink option when you log in to your Commuter Check Direct account. You'll be asked for your TransLink card serial number (printed on the back of your card—enter just the first 10 digits before the dash), and then you can place your TransLink order. Email info@commutercheckdirect.com for more information.

WageWorks

If you receive benefits through WageWorks, your TransLink card can be linked to receive your benefit value. Log in to your WageWorks account and click on "Place Commuter Order." Follow the choices to TransLink. You'll be asked for your TransLink card serial number (printed on the back of your card—enter just the first 10 digits before the dash), and then place your TransLink order.

Special note for WageWorks Commuter Card customers! If you have a WageWorks Commuter Card and want to set up automatic reloading of value on your TransLink card, we suggest setting up Autoload with a regular credit card and simply using your Commuter Card to add value at the beginning of each benefit period. That way, your credit card will only be charged when your benefits expire. If you use your Commuter Card to set up Autoload and your TransLink card runs out of value before the end of your benefit period, your TransLink card will be blocked and you will be unable to use it.
