Disabled Fares are available with TransLink

Please note: TransLink is not yet accepted on cable cars. If you currently use a monthly pass to ride cable cars, we recommend you use a paper pass until TransLink is accepted on this service.

Muni disabled fare customers must have a Regional Transit Connection (RTC) TransLink-compatible card. If you do not have a card similar to the one pictured below with the TransLink logo on it, you may obtain a card by visiting:

Muni (San Francisco Municipal Railway)
2630 Geary Blvd., San Francisco, CA 94118
415-923-6070, TYY 415-701-4730
Applications accepted Monday-Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where to Use
TransLink is now accepted on all Muni vehicles (*except cable cars), AC Transit, BART, Caltrain, Dumbarton Express, and Golden Gate Transit and Ferry.

How to use
Once you receive your TransLink card, you can electronically load e-cash (which can be used as fare payment on any transit agency that accepts TransLink) or a discounted Muni monthly pass onto your card.

Proof-of-Payment
When using a monthly pass or (electronic cash) e-cash, you must always tag your TransLink card to the card reader each time you board a vehicle or enter a station fare gate. Your tag is your proof to operators and fare payment officers that you have either paid your fare or are within the free transfer period.

Transfers
With TransLink e-cash, you no longer need to take a paper transfer when transferring to another Muni vehicle or another transit agency that accepts TransLink. TransLink automatically calculates the 90-minute transfer period or inter-transit agency transfer discount.

Additional information on how to use TransLink in general and on Muni can be found at: How to use your TransLink card, Ways to Add Value, Fares and Passes and Muni FAQ. TransLink also works with a variety of transit benefits programs.
